• Question: You wanted to work in the R.A.F as an engineer with weapons/aircraft, but now you're a 'Group Senior Packaging Engineer'. How come you didn't become what you wanted to be?

I decided to complete a foundation course in engineering after school and managed to get offered two engineering apprenticeships one with R.A.F St Athans and another with British Steel. I made a career choice at the time that more people would need steel than aircraft so I chose the British Steel apprenticeship. This gave me the foundations required to become an engineer and allowed me to progress to my current position after holding different engineering roles with other food manufacturing companies. I do still think what might have happened if I took the RAF apprenticeship but I have also had a successful career within the food industry.
