Personally I wouldn’t say my work colleges are my close friends that I spend a lot of time with in the evenings or weekend, but I’m defiantly friends with a lot of people at work. We spend a lot of time together (8 hours a day!) and we have a lot of laughs…about work and normal stuff too!

I had to move away from my friends when I started this job, but I have made lots of new friends in Birmingham. In fact, I am still very close to my friends back in Scotland and I seen them last weekend!

I’ve met most of my friends here through work as I talk to them everyday. We often have nights out and day trips away.

      Heya!

Sure do! Like any job you will be closer to some than others, but I have become friends with the guys in my lab. We are even going to a festival together this year!

I’ve met the most eclectic bunch of people! We have this common theme of turning everyday jokes and questions into nerdy science.

The other day we had doughnuts that needed to go in the microwave for 8 seconds. So we totally deconstructed why it was exactly 8 seconds and what would happen if we left it longer.

      Our thoughts? Explosion.

Most of my close friends are in the area where I live, however I have made many good friends from work as that’s where you tend to learn more about each other. We often have nights out together (where we mostly laugh about work things) and arrange activities outside work quite often.
